Elke Thisted lives in Kristiansand/Norway and is Manager of Online analysis & development at Glencore Nikkelverk since September 2018. Before she was a Lead Process Engineer from 2014 at Glencore Nikkelverk situated close to Kristiansand city. She studied Chemistry at the Technical University in Karlsruhe/Germany and holds a master degree in chemistry since 1998. She got her Ph.D-degree from the Norwegian University of Technology and Science in Trondheim/Norway in 2003 working on impurity studies in aluminium electrolysis. Since 2004 she worked in Elkem/Norway with method development for process and product and LEAN and its applications via the Elkem’s business system. Since 2014 she works at Glencore Nikkelverk responsible for process mapping and improvement by applying principles of the Nikkelverk business system.  Since 2015 she has worked with variography to understand its application in the process industry and apply the knowledge “in-action”.
